I am "new" at Fstoppers

... well not exactly new. I have been visting the website for several years now but never participated in the discussions / the Forum. Recently I "discovered" the Forum and was amazed by all the good discusssions. So I will try to be active here in the future :-)
Looking forward to some good discussions and CC.

Beautiful shot! Only thing that I could add is maybe to make the castle pop a bit more. Where did you take it?

thanks! Now that you mention it the castle does indeed look a bit "dull".
The castle stands in Southern Bavaria near the city Füssen

Very nice indeed, but I'd crop a bit from the left, to make the left rock go away, the castle bigger, and closer to the rule of thirds...

thanks for your comment and honest criticism. It is true that this magnificent castle is a bit small in that picture...

I agree too!

I really like it. Very well done! I like the crop, and I don't mind the foreground/rock on the left. My only issue is the warm light being cast on the foreground. I think I would try cooling that down a bit, and perhaps warming the castle up (just a tiny bit!), to make it pop out from the surrounding forest a bit more.

thanks a lot for your kind and honest answer. It is true that the lower left part of the image has too warm colors! I somehow overlooked that! And as M.Hijmans also correctly said the castle could indeed need a little more pop!

i think everyone is very familiar with this castle from multiple angles lighting situations and seasons i think you did a great job here it just comes down to different ideas for setup, composition, focal length i do think you could make the castle pop a bit more like M. Hejmans said because you have it a t a distant focal length it starts to become a part of the landscape instead of a standout
its subtle but i bade the castle brighter and the background more illuminated and foreground a little more dramatic with saturation and contrast

Dear Joseph thank you very much for your constructive critcism. I really appreciate it! Have a nice day. Edgar

no problem!!

Nice photo! I actually like how the castle is more subtle/subdued and seems settled in the landscape rather than making it pop. I can certainly see how highlighting the castle more could also look good.
