Lonely road

I was at the Dripping Springs Natural Area in Las Cruces, NM and was struck by how lonely the road felt after the storm had passed. Anyway, critiques welcome. Thanks!

I understand your experience. Looking at the image, ..... I hope this does not sound harsh but it seems over processed to me. You did a nice job, with the rain under the clouds. But the light to shadow from clouds to under, seems a bit extreme, the weeds in warm light are very bright, and there are artifacts about mid-frame, along the horizontal line.

I don't get an over processed feel from this image. It is a bit too contrasty for me personally - but there is a mood here that is being conveyed.

What gets me is the bottom 1/4 of the frame is out of focus. I think a 16:9 crop from the upper left corner could help eliminate some of that as well as reduce the large portion of almost blown out sky in the upper right. Just my $0.02.

I like this image. I do not look at it and think "over-processed". The only thing I would offer is that the top right is so bright that my eye ends up there every time. That area distracts me from the rest.
