Silver Creek

So I finally finished editing the picture I took before work the other day and I'm very pleased with the result, I even made an A3 print and it looks gorgeous. What do you think?

Tomorrow I'll be on site again, this time around I will have all the time I need, well until sunset, that is. My wading boots will make the trip as well, so I should be able to get some interesting angles.

hopefully the water won't be gone again lol. Great to see you shooting again. Love the shot, i wish there was some fog creeping through the base of the woods but as usual technically sound shot. Really nice contrast form the rushing water to the surrounding elements. The pop of green moss and redish leaves are a nice complimentary touch of color. Im still trying to figure out where to draw the line on enhancing the mossy green it seems to be a thin line to the point of over saturation.

Thanks Joseph! You're right it's quite tricky to get the greens just right. Desaturating the greens is almost always a good idea, toning down the yellows also helps.

The only thing that bother me is that bright spot (that part of the sky), because it takes my view out of the frame. Everything else is excellent.

I agree. I was thinking of editing it out but didn't want to ruin the image. I may repeat the shot, turning to the right and taking a few steps to the left. That would, in theory, accomplish 3 things: 1) That patch of sky should be gone, 2) the large rock at the center would no longer hide the base of the tree behind it and 3) the rock at the bottom would move further to the right. And maybe, just maybe I'd add a focal point - myself.

Agree with this too! Except the selfie/landscape idea. ;-) Show us your result if you do; it would be an interesting comparison.

I took a shot there today, but it looks completely different, will take me some time to edit, stay tuned ;-)

Agree about the sky: Had same reaction. Still a nice shot.
