I went out for sunrise this morning to practice bracketing but all of the compositions I was happy with had lens flares in them and I'm not confident enough with Photoshop to remove them. A lesson learned! Next time I come here for sunrise, I'll be more careful!
That said, I did get this image, which is just one exposure. I would love some feedback on the composition of the image as well as how I've edited it. Any feedback would be helpful! Thanks in advance!
Beautiful capture, nicely composed and processed.
Sometimes when the sky is boring I get tempted to cut it off completely, when possible.
Thanks Radisa! Yeah, the sky wasn't really doing much and so I do agree with you! Maybe I could even crop the image a little bit!
Thanks again!
Good work, Tim. You capture the hazy atmoshpere well. I agree with Radisa (again!). Looking carefully, though, I think that that mass of foreground trees doesn't quite do the scene justice as is. It is a large mass, and maybe just lacking in interest a bit in terms of texture or contrast.
So I append an edit, where I've cropped a bit off the sky as you mention, and a little from the trees. I've also brought out the trees' texture a bit, and highlighted that patch of them that catches the sun a bit more - it's a pleasing part of the image that I didn't even notice as such until I started editing and they popped out a bit.
Having said all that, I'm not sure I've improved your image, which has its own subdued feel. I may have overcooked it.
