Nos Morituri...

The time has come. I've shared more than enough opinions about others' work, without putting my own on the line.

So here's one. Awaiting your CC. Gulp...!

Not saying anything about the image. I think they should speak for themselves.

A beautiful layered cloud formation with an idyllic scene in the foreground Chris.
In this way, how you chosen the composition, clouds take away too much attention - space and the tree tops are little bit too dark for me. It needed to be closer to taking advantage of the leading lines if it was possible.
I'm also interested in how it looks in color?

Thanks, Radisa! Appreciate your attention.

Looks crap in colour to me! Ex-camera jpeg added FYI. I had long visualised a big golden-hour mackerel sky above a tiny treeline, and have yet to find it. This day was too early in day for good light, and clouds had non-mackerel ideas.

Fiddled about in post, frustrated, until mono & crop gave me other idea. I wanted sense of not-quite idyll, some drama like old darkroom print, or sense of nature's grandeur, but you're right - at cost of the dark trees. Could possibly do better now. I've added two other less stark versions, one cropped in response to your comment re: attention-stealing. Clouds look murky in these to me.

The only leading line I see is streak of sunlit grass from bottom RH corner to hillock. You see others?

Amazed at the detail in Epson P800 pano over 1m long from old Nikon 55. Can now do 1.5m pano if I crop as per 3rd image!

It doesn't look so bad in color, only this big cloud left up represents an some kind of obstacle.

Quite. I blew as hard as I could, but it wouldn't go away.
