Triple Threat

Welcome to Locklear's Beach City Grill on Folly Beach, SC. There's a parking lot under all of that water, somewhere. We spent Thanksgiving at the beach this year, enjoying some sunshine and waves. This particular morning, more than the others, was interesting because much of the island was flooded when we woke up. This was the result of a "triple threat" that, according to locals, is pretty rare. All of the flooding came from a full moon, king tide, and hard rain... all in one night.

As always, CC is greatly appreciated!

Nice shot, and well composed is my overall reaction, Mark! I like that cable going precisely into the top right corner like that.

Two things mar it slightly for meticulous me:

Firstly on my calibrated non-pro monitor, the sky has a perceptible cyan cast.

Secondly, I think the image is tilted (about one degree) clockwise. I'm sure this would seem like ridiculous carping to some, but sea horizons, even here where the coastline obscures its precise location, and standing water in general, don't look right to me unless they're exactly level.

Apparently my head was tilted a little when I cropped this. lol! I adjusted the horizon and dialed back the cyan just a bit. Thanks for the feedback!

I agree with Chris on the composition - the cables form a great lead-in and the subject is well placed. I think the yellow of the building helps cement the eye as it contrasts the blue so well.

I also agree that the horizon seems to be off-level slightly (confirmed in verticals), but on the monitor I'm using now (not my own) the color of the sky looks good.

Thanks, Alan! I adjusted the horizon (above). I think I straightened it out.
