Photography Vlogging - Would you watch these?

Hi again everyone,

So today I have something different. This year I've decided to start a new project and get into a bit of vlogging/youtubing my photography adventures. I've made a few short vids from my adventures of the past week so I hope you may enjoy watching these and providing a bit of feedback.

Please be kind, but more importantly, be honest and speak plain. I've had great fun doing these but I'm right at the beginning of a new skill set and there's a long way to go. Please bear in mind that these are also totally unscripted and W.I.Ps.

Would love to hear what you think :)

The password on all of them is 'wilderness'

I intend to keep shooting over the next several months and to make some equipment upgrades to improve image and sound quality.

can't view them seems to be a password needed do you need to sign up for an account

password is in the description above the vids

lol never was much of a reader haha

not bad at all for starting out what camera are you using for the vlogging material

just my phone :)

I may get myself an osmo pocket tho as it's just so much more portable and will shoot 4k

really? not to shabby

As early attempts I really like these. The sound quality drops off at times but considering what you are using they are excellent.
All you need now is to get a dog like Simon Baxter!

Oohps! I guess I should have watched ALL videos before commenting. With the addition of a dog AND a wife I think you have one up on Simon :-)

Watched the first video and there's no denying you're heavily influenced by Thomas Heaton ;-) The thing is, I don't watch his videos anymore and the main reason for that is, that they've become boring and repetitive and I cannot justify the time invested for the little info they provide.

I'm struggling with doing a vlog myself and more often than not I've started editing a video that I never finished because to me it felt as if there was too little value for my viewers. That's why I got only a handful of videos on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3WAkPaHPTI2SjxDmDyK4gw, the early ones don't count).

Considering you shot these videos with just a phone is remarkable, but I don't think we need any more Thomas Heaton style vlogs, try to come up with something unique, something that will make me want to return to your channel.

Cheers Thorsten, appreciate your thoughts. I'm intending for Oot N Aboot to just be one part of the channel. As I mention these are unscripted but I have a lot of other knowledge about the forest and about Scotland that I'm keen to share too (my background is as an outdoor instructor and guide) which will be scripted and hopefully a bit different and more slick.
