My main critique would be that the subjects are too dark to show significant details but not dark enough to be passed off as a silhouette.

I like the composition, though, so if you can raise the shadows, it might work a little more.

Agree with Jordan, little more detail in shadows would help.

I too like this composition, especially the color. There's also a great contrast happening with the softer water texture (top) and the lily pad textures (bottom).

I wouldn't mind seeing a version with a closer crop, placing the flowers in a right side thirds position more, and having the soft water (top) only take up a third of the top of the image. May strengthen the composition.

Great shot Vijay!

@Joe. appreciating your review. will check with suggested crop.

I agree with both critiques. The current crop makes the image a little imbalanced for my taste. Generally, I like negative space, but here, there is a little too much. The light off the pads is the star of the show, so to Joe's point, I would crop tighter. As a final note, I would use the clone tool to clean the area to the top of the left lily. It distracts from the scene a little. Hope this was helpful.

@Robert, thanks for your time. will check processing with your suggestions.

@Jordan, your review is appreciated. yes, check processing again to see more details for the flowers.

A good image, Vijay! I like it as is, but also agree with the posters. I append an edit echoing to an extent Robert's view particularly.

Personally, I like the smooth water at the top as a foil, so I also append an alternatively cropped version emphasising that.

I've lightened the shadows a bit in both so the lily petals' translucency is emphasised, but I'm not sure it helps - Vijay's darker version is more moody.

Hey Chris, I really like your second image crop with more water, appeals to my minimalism side. Good one!

Thanks for your kind words, Joe!

thanks, Joe and Chris for your support.
