A 15 second long exposure during a foggy morning at Cannon beach, Oregon. The long exposure allowed for the water and fog to blend and appear as a painting.
Love the atmosphere you've captured, Jacob, and I like the simple composition. It balances the large expanse of soft, gently undulating foreground with the distant stacks just partly emerging from the mist.Well done!
Haystack is gorgeous! Did you know what you were looking for before you took the photo? Or did you experiment with the different exposures when you saw the beach conditions?
I was hoping for a colourful sunrise but was kind of bummed when I got there and it was covered in fog. It was my first time being on the beach because we arrived at night and slept in our car so seeing the sea stacks in the fog gave off a very ominous vibe so I thought it might look cool shot at telephoto. It was still very dark so I had to do a long exposure to properly capture it at a tight aperture. I only took two shots like this before I kept moving on down the beach and it ended up being my favourite of the batch :)
great shot Jacob it is nice soft and mysterious looking image very painterly nice capture
Thank you!

I would perhaps decrease blue just a bit to bring out the highlights, and also categorize in fine art as opposed to landscape. Very nice.
Yeah its always hit or miss here in the PNW with the weather for sure, but awesome shot for sure!
