I'm new to landscape photography and specifically night photography. This is my first attempt. Thoughts?
Background: a major snow storm came in and I was worried the milk truck want going to pick up my milk. This is taken at 3:30AM. Success. The milk was picked up. That day we got a total of 18" of snow.
My dad was a milk truck driver for many years in Vermont, he has some great stories from those days.
I dig the image and it conveys the unique combo of snow and light well. I'm on the fence about wondering how it would look with the camera 4-6" higher. But I really like the foreground field of untouched snow so that might not have made any improvement. Either way, I like it a lot.
Great effort Chris, especially if you're new to landscape and night photography. The composition is dynamic, interesting and well balanced to my eye. And you capture the sense of nocturnal drama very well. The foreground snow helps to set the scene, so I think that the low camera position is part of the reason for the image's success. An interesting and unusual image.
