Curvy Aspen Forest

A photo I took this past fall of a beautiful grove of unique curved aspens. These trees have become popular among local photographers but were still difficult to find.

Oh lovely! Looks like it was caused by a wind/ice storm a few decades ago?

WOW! How did this happen???

One theory is human factor - you can read more about "crooked forests" here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crooked_Forest

During my forest journeys I have noticed something similar, but not to such an extent. Very unusual and interesting, well captured!

Great shot with the haziness

Interesting indeed. The only possible explanation I could offer is that the uniform deformity is man-made - perhaps wiring young saplings as they do Bonsai to force a growth form.

From what I've heard and read, people seem to believe it was caused by a landslide.

I really like the lighting in this, the trees look to pop out from the background.
