Eternal high places

All around us here in Utah, the land is coming alive. The temperatures are climbing, the days are longer and the birds beginning to sing. There is a buzz in the air as people greet the new spring but mother nature is forever fickle. Man's schedule of events are of no consequence or concern to her and of this we were reminded yesterday as we awoke to yet another fleet of snow crashing to earth as we awoke from our slumber. And yet, from this photographers view, the mountains sing the most covered in snow..the eternal high places.

Brr! Looks quite chilly for spring! It must be nice to have mountains in the backyard. No coating of snow down here, just the yellow haze of pollen.

We've been here for 5 years after coming back from overseas. Northern Utah is weird, normal but weird. It can (and definitely has) snowed off and on up through May but come June the heat is definitely on! Same for autumn. Last October the autumn foliage is going but then here comes the snow! Like I said...weird. I'm blessed to have these mountains surrounding where I live and I know it.

This is breathtaking - almost like it must actually be there! I love the color and light in this. And I especially like the texture on the front slope. Great work Mark!

Thanks Ruth! Fresh snow always tempts me to go to the mountains.
