Tamara is an extroverted, larger-than-life dear friend from way back. When I sent her some images, she obviously liked this one more than my usual silky diaphanous efforts from waterfalls. I printed it as big as I could for a present, boosting the colours, thinking of her colourful personality and energy.
it like a long exposure with a sparkler might have a better look as a square crop to have more of an abstract look
I really don't like square images, Joseph. They generally look stiff and dead to me. Michael Kenna's. are an exception, although he often crops.
i will have to check out his stuff.. they have their place in certain circumstances but your right it is rare that they make for a perfect end result
I also thought about a long exposure sparkler in all their best aspects. Sometimes long exposure of water is so soft it loses it's energy and interest for me. This is sparky and action filled. All popping energy. It is a wonderful alternative to this type of photograph. Love it!
Thanks Ruth! I was about to post some of the other kind here...
I didn't say all of them!
