First Sunset Photos I'm Truly Proud to Post

I finally got some sunset photos while on vacation in Hawaii that I was excited to post to various photo sites. I live in a place that doesn't often offer the most exciting scenery, and my schedule doesn't really allow me to get many photos around sunrise/sunset times of the day. Any criticism is welcomed. I'm always eager to learn.

great work! i love the light on the rocks in the third image, but i prefer the light on the mountains and the sky in the second image. can't have both i guess...

Thanks. I agree. I may revisit these to try a composite of the two.

Nice job. Compositionally I think your first shot is the strongest, leading lines with the rocks are interesting and defined.

Thank you!

Well done Tyler! I love that "I got it!" feeling!!

The first two images are really nice. I love the composition of the first one and the exposure/clouds of the second. Both work well but if I was forced to choose, the lighting in the second one makes this my favorite.
;)

Great feeling to come away with shots that make you proud, Tyler given that much of what we do in photography is for ourselves, first and foremost.

I agree with the other comments about the first image having the strongest composition. If you are able to bring out more of the afterburn without too much noise, it may be worth trying and seeing if you like the results.

With the second and third, I suggest stacking them and trying to bring the sky from the second in to the third. Together, the warm tones and misty water, without as much sky clipping may make for a dynamic scene.

I agree with the others in saying the first image is the strongest, in terms of the location. However, if you go back, I recommend changing the angle of your lens. This one seems like a rather dead on shot, which is causing it to come across a little flat. I think if you raise the camera and angle the lens down a little more, it will add depth to your image.

The light in your second image is good, but the one in the third image is unfortunately completely blown out.
