Nice work.

Has the window always had that barrier to block the light on the side away from the water? Or was it added because someone complained the constant blinking ruined their sleep pattern? ;)

Trivia of the day, it helps the ship determine if they are directly in front of or to the side of the lighthouse. In complete darkness, the back panel provides perspective to the viewer who could be anywhere in relationship to a sphere but only in a specific orientation to a half sphere. (Lots of lighthouses in my neck of the woods!)
:)

Learned something new!

This has to be one of my favorite lighthouse photographs I've ever seen. I love the light, the detail, the composition. For some reason it really speaks to me. I LOVE it! Thank you for posting!

I only wish the top of the lighthouse were differentiated from the background a bit more. If those clouds behind it were white over black, it would be perfect.

Then the composition wouldn't work nearly as well, I reckon, Phillip. The dark mass at top balances the dark water and rocks, creating that sombre, somewhat threatening or oppressive atmosphere that elevates this shot out of the ordinary. But yes, if somehow the top were more differentiated, it would help the lighthouse to look its best.

Good job! It makes me want to run inside, even though I am...
