Cheeky, I know, Ruth! But it's just SO busy. I'm not into gear-freaking, but I think it needs a faster lens to highlight the nearest bloom against the mass. Or, stand back and show the massed effect. Also, I know magnolias are not vividly coloured usually, but it just looks a bit flat.
I'm lucky enough to have one in front of my study where I'm at the computer.
I generally don't question what other photographers do, but I have to agree with Chris, although not exactly from the same point of view. I agree the issue is a lack of separation, but I think the problem is lighting rather than depth of field. I suspect a strategically located strobe or reflector might have improved the situation.
Thanks Andrew. I'll admit this was just a snap shot to share a little spring. I am just learning about using a flash for situations like this. I appreciate your input!!
:)
Lovely and thanks Ruth! We've gotten our fair share of snow this winter/spring. The good news is we were in drought conditions and that may be over. Besides, great waterfalls are a definite when that snow starts melting!

In the spirit of friendship. :-)
Much nicer! It's always all good feedback.
