Thanks Chris. This was taken two years ago at this time of year. It was taken with a macro lens as it is all I had with me. I plan to head back to this spot in the next day or two and am going to try a reshoot with a different lens. It will be interesting to see how that goes.
Sooo I was out with just a macro. It was early morning, misty and dark so the rays coming in were fairly opaque. This was a single shot, PENTAX PENTAX K-7
ƒ/2.8, 1/40, 90mm, ISO200. I didn't have the original anymore but I did find a blurry one that I didn't edit to give you a general idea. That is photo 1 below. I went back exactly a month later and tried again with a different camera/lens and took the second one below. Again, unedited so you can check it out. Canon Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XSi
ƒ/5.6, 1/40, 60mm, ISO800.
wow.
this looks amazing I love it.
You've done well to capture the "God beams", Ruth! I rarely seem to manage it. Nice airy misty feel. Can almost smell the forest.

Hi Ruth, was this a single shot or HDR? How did you enhance the sun rays. i often face this difficulty.
thanks.
