This time I had my polarizer attached to help reduce some of the sun. I'm curious. I really want to get shooting in the sun down. We have plenty of it in Texas. What are some techniques you use when capture outdoor shots in the baking sun?
The trick I most often use is to not shoot in the baking midday sun. :)
Seriously, you should try to avoid this time of day, especially for a white bird that is going to blow out the highlights on the feathers when captured in direct, harsh light.
If you can, plan to shoot late in the day when the sun is very low and get it behind you. This way, the sun will light up the bird fully and give a nice catchlight in its eye. In every one of these shots, the bird's face and eyes are in shadow. The last one has a bit of reflected light from the rock.
