The bottom half of this photo looks fine, albeit a little too yellow for my taste, but the sky ... way, WAY too much "HDR look" going on. Those dark halos ruin it for me.
Also, I'd like to see what's in that valley that goes through the middle of the image. Maybe there's a nice river in there?
I'm sure the fields and mountains DO look like that, but I haven't been there, so I can only judge this image on its own merits, without the added benefit of knowing the scene personally. If someone is going to share a photo of a place, the photo needs to be able to stand on its own. If I feel there could be a change or two to make this photograph stand out from the crowd of snapshots of Peru, then that's my prerogative. Without having been there, this looks like a picture of some fields and some mountains. And regardless of whether Peru "looks just like this," there are lots of other places that also look like this, with fields and mountains and overcooked skies.
Ohhh Peru so close to my heart....this photo is as close as it comes to being there. Yes they sky is overdone, bring down the yellows too, but the fields and mountains do really look like that... ;)

Maybe you should visit Peru, Phillip. I agree that the sky is cartoonish, but the composition is not flawed, it's a beautiful scene.
