Sleeping Screech Owl

This tiny owl is a year round resident near me. He is fairly unique as he his a "red" variety that is rare. I caught him sleeping on a cold morning. I love how puffed up he is.

Normally I would like to give my subject more space but he gets kind of list in a wider view (image 2).

Just thought he looks cute in black and white for image 3.

Feedback welcome.

There's something about the shape of the opening in which he's sitting in the second that appeals to me, though, Ruth! Starts to call to my mind children's stories, perhaps because its form & symmetry looks just a touch unnatural. And your friend's colours and textures nicely sit against those of the bark.He is too striking to look lost in this one, for me.

Once again, an impressionistic, but more dramatic, rather than pared-back edit comes to mind. A bit along the lines of what Radisa Zivkovic tends to do.

great images Ruth im horrible with animal shots im either too slow on the wrong iso or miss the damn focus the first one is fantastic

Love me some owls!! Nicely done.
