Landscape photo editor service recommendations?

I'm badly colorblind and really need some help.

I have been obsessed with photography since age 5, shot hundreds of events to pay for college, but didn’t pursue as I am badly color blind. Can’t really distinguish between yellow/orange, green/brown, purple/blue, pink/purple, red and... you get the point.

I have watched all of of Elia Locardi's tutorials, yet in each video, get to a stage where my color challenges hit a creative wall.

In your opinion, who is the most talented photo editor / company available for hire to help with landsacape, HDR, pano, printing prep?

I shoot mostly travel and landscape photography, with some sports mixed in.

Thanks!

Interesting question you raise, Barry. I'm a doctor, and have long known about colour blindness more than most, but have regularly been surprised by learning after some years that people I know quite well are colour-blind, which I'd never have guessed. It made me think (maybe I'm wrong) that it's not necessarily a great handicap.

Your portfolio doesn't show anything like bizarre or odd colours, so I'd think that if you don't alter what's there too much, and don't "push the sliders" (which many do to great excess) you won't go far wrong.

What about monochrome? It's popular, and even with colour blindness, you'll see the effect of adjusting the contribution of the different colour channels to darken blue skies, etc in the process of conversion from colour to mono.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply. I have done quite a bit in monochrome, yet it depends on the photo.

For many of the pictures in my gallery, I had some help; in the form of inexpensive UpWork freelancers or just my wife telling me that the colors aren’t natural and to 'try again'.

At this stage in my photography journey, I’d like a more professional, higher-end resource.

in reference to our discussion on Joes shot bar has hit the bullseye with the bridge shot thats what i wanna see...Great shot Barry

Hey Barry,

You might pose this question in one of the portrait groups as the pros often hire retouchers to do their processing. Different subject maybe but the process might work.

Good luck!
