Developing leading lines

Not the best photo but I like the leading line in the water that leads towards the castle. However, I think the line is a bit too subtle. So, in post-processing how could I go about emphasising this line?

Hi Peter - Nice shot! I get where you are coming from with your question here. That line in the water is great.

Here's a stab. I don't know if you will like it but for hat it worth, I took a brush tool, set the sliders to raise the contrast by about half, the clarity up bit and the blacks just a tiny bump and swiped down the center of the water. Then I took a second brush tool, set the exposure to a few degrees brighter and did the entire water.

Hope this helps!

:)

PS - I also did a tiny bit of dehazing on the entire photo to pop the details in the castle.

It's actually a pretty good, well-composed image, Peter, and it's savvy of you to notice that snake in the water.

I've had a go too, and ended up close to Ruth's version by a somewhat different route. I raised the shadow values, and then applied an S-shape in Curves, which increases mid-tone contrast, then I used a radial gradient which fitted over the water area, and simply increased the contrast there again. This increased the saturation, making it a bit too blue, perhaps, but this emphasises the snake. Like Ruth, I think the whole image could use a little more contrast.

Cheers both for your examples. I will try and replicate using the software I have, which at the moment my solution seems a little convoluted as I'm using GIMP. Going to use duplicate layers and treat it like exposure blending, may take a while but will post here if I manage to get a good attempt. Thanks again!
