Gettysburg 2013

The first two are at the Peach Orchard (my great-grandfather fought there with General Sickles.) I thought it interesting that all the trees were all in one direction as if they had been designed this way. The third is near the Devil's Den looking up toward Little Round Top.

Interesting trees. Were they pruned that way on purpose?

I expect that they were treated exactly as one would ordinarily treat a peach tree. I was not with a guide, so I had no one to ask, but there was a pretty consistent breeze in that direction, so I suspect that was the cause. It's been six years since I've been there, but I think we'll go through there sometime in July, and we'll see what's happened in the interim.
