View to Eternity

Mist hangs over a field in Rehweiler, Germany and the railroad line stretches off into the distance. Where it leads will always be a mystery. And though the way isn't always clear, for a fleeting moment we may get a ...view to eternity.

Hi Mark, i enjoyed the background vegetation in crisper grey tones. the vanishing tracks were marked with the darkest ones. good composition. was debating for the presence of signal pole and was on both side of table. The textured vegetation on the right foreground are kind of in contrast to otherwise a softer image. Thanks.

Glad you like the view Vijay!

wow that looks so cool.
beautiful shot Mark

Cheers Jeremy!

Beautiful! Love that snake of the tracks. You need to go back to Germany from time to time, just to make B&W images, Mark!

One day I will!

Nice capture, love those tracks.

Thanks Joe!

So Mark - Train tack pictures don't usually do anything for me but .... this one is great! I love it. The signpost, mist, trees and hills all work together to create a great image. The portrait format that allows for the long curve to the background. Beautiful!

I have to ask as I seem to be having monitor issues lately - does the top ridge have a halo? This is 4 stars with a halo it is so good and 5 stars hands down without it.

Super work!

Thanks Ruth! I have never noticed a halo to be honest.

I love how the tracks meander off into the distance with no known destination. The fog lends such a nice air of mystery to the shot. I like the signpost on the left because it adds a feeling of authenticity to this work...a working mystery railroad. Great work!

Thanks Tom!
