Germany in Spring

May arrives in the hills surrounding Glan-Munchweiler with intense yellow rapeseed blooming and the land bursting with color. I do miss this these timeless moments of pureness represented by rural areas and a simpler way of life...Germany in spring.

What have you done with Mark?

A color landscape? That is beautiful!! Seriously Mark. This is gorgeous! And with the light .... You are still the Master of Light is my book!

Thanks Ruth! This is one of our favorite images from Germany. In April/May the rapeseed (yellow) fields are blooming like crazy...that I miss.

Very good frame. is this single shot or panorama.

Thanks! Single shot

Wow!! The way the light plays across this scene is GORGEOUS!! All the colors just pop! The mist is clearly visible but high enough to not muddy the picture. Love the play between the light and shadows. I am so jealous!! This is what I aspire to. Seeing this makes me realize how far I have to go but it's inspiring! I do believe this is my favorite picture I've seen in the last six months since I started!! Fabulous!

Thanks Elizabeth and if I can do it so can you! I'm self taught and started my journey in Germany. Just keep plugging at it and I'll pass this on from what my father use to say: Study the greats.

Mark, you post some interesting pictures up. The light in this one is really strange. It looks like it is lit from several different angles. Was this as shot or are some of the highlights brought out through edits?

Believe it or not Shawn, one shot. It was taken with my first camera, Panasonic G1.

Really crazy lighting in that one!

Coming and going, coming and going.
