new love for taking pictures has made me go out into nature again

Hey.

Just recently realized that it is very fun to photograph moving water and waterfalls, And is new to photoshop so would like to have some feedbak on how the pictures is taken and my editing.

This new love has made me stay out in nature much more again. is there any more that can relate to it?

All was shot o a canon 70d and Tamron 18-400mm f3.5-5.6 di ll VC HLD BO28

glad your getting out it is a wonderful thing ... these images are nice the only thing i could recommend is getting yourself a different lens the 18-400 is nice to have for travel because it encompasses a large range in one lens but its downfall is sharpness and your images will be soft as a result look into prime lenses they are cheap but will get you a better end result in the editing side just make sure to retain your details in the dark areas and possibly tone down the yellow saturation keep up the beautiful work

Always nice to find / rediscover inspiration, Nicky. I think many of the members here can probably relate to finding ways of keeping ourselves motivated from time to time.

Some general feedback about your images:
- I like that you experimented with different compositions and shutter speeds
- The shots all convey varying moods as a result of your toning & processing, which collectively makes for an interesting set

Meanwhile, a couple constructive comments:
1. I terms of the relationship between water smoothing and detail, photo #2 is my favorite. I prefer to have some depth and movement in waterfalls to show both, flow and force. The first is a little too smooth and the third may look better with action frozen if you wanted to show velocity. If you’re so inclined, stacking water flow from multiple shots may give you the final image you like best.
2. With regard to composition, I prefer #1. For me, it isolates and conveys the reason you found the scene interesting. The bridge & trees in #2 are not particularly photogenic and detracts from the falls. Similar for shot #3 where the top of the frame does not enhance he scene IMO. Both have a lot of potential for tighter detail shots and more fun days outdoors.

Of course, all of this is purely subjective and hope that it helps in some way as you continue chasing waterfalls. Have fun out there
