Interesting Eddy - something very different from you!
The color on the blue flower is beautiful. It almost glows. The DOF is really nice on the main flower too. Solid effort.
So this type of photo is right in my wheelhouse and I'd like to give two thoughts about this. The first is that there is A LOT going on in the background. The flowers are so delicate to have so much competition.
The second is about the color. The flower and bud are cool and somewhat subdued colors (blue and pink) and then all the highlight colors are bright and hot - yellow and yellow/green. This makes the background overwhelm the subject and hurts the harmony in my opinion.
Here are two screen shots to show what I mean. The first cools the background and the second gets rid of it. Just for thoughts.
Overall Eddy - solid effort! I look forward to seeing more of this type of thing from you!
Ruth... i just wanted to try some colour shots..to see where i fit in to the world of colour photography. ido have one which was a black background and one where it took the focus of the main subject.. i am also trying different apertures, to which i prefer either F8-11 or anything under F2... don't know if i explained it quite right.. please forgive....TY Ruth
Isn't it interesting how different black and white vs. color can be! You are a master at black and white. I have a feeling color will be around the corner soon.
