I was in Las Vegas for a convention in February 1983. Because of airline rules, I had to stay for several days longer than the trade show so I took a side trip to the Grand Canyon. It's only half an inch on the map, so how long could it take to get there? All day on the bus, it turned out. We left Las Vegas about 8 AM and got to the hotel on the canyon edge about 5 PM in the middle of a snowstorm. The fog in the canyon was right up to the top and it looked like you could walk across. I did not attempt that. And it was too dark to photograph with what I had with me (no tripod and 64 speed Ektachrome.) I shot this frame the following morning. My usual camera in those days was a Canon FTbn with a 24 mm lens, but since at that time I was representing Ricoh cameras, I probably used one of theirs.
Wow beautiful! I really wish i could have been there with snow! One of my favorite photos uses a very similar composition, great photo!
