Monsoon Mountains

Captured this photo a few days ago. Went out early morning and just looked for things. I really didn’t have a composition in mind. This one stood out because usually its hard to capture the depth of the mountain. The shadows helped show that depth.

Interesting atmosphere you've depicted here, Jere. The restricted tonal range works well. Many would have gone for the "dehaze" slider and killed it!

Thank you.

Hi Jere! Thompson Peak?

I like the lighting too but I actually might have dehazed a tiny bit. :) Not enough to lose the softness though. Or, maybe I take it back. Chris - you have me thinking. Regardless lovely image!

Thank you. I actually don’t know what peak that it. Google maps says McDowell Mtn.
I didn’t want to dehaze too much because it just rained and I wanted to capture that too.
I did go back and see how it would look when I dehazed a bit more, and it looks good that way as well.

Well i am very familiar with the McDowells and this is Thompson Peak. And the only reason i emphasize this is that i spent 25 years looking at this mountain and i LOVE your photograph! It brought me right there. Nice work.
