Absolutely Beautiful! I can't wait for fall when the water goes down and we can go out among the trees! This is very nice Joe!

Thanks Ruth ...Joe said it smells a bit ....i got in the water on the other shot i was a couple feet away from a snapping turtle that was as big as my torso luckily he didn't want to bite me lol

Yikes! While that's about the only thing in there that can hurt you, hurt you they will! Love your dedication. Reed is from the area too so we are going to have to have a group shoot soon!

Sounds good to me

Its really a blue hour !
I would shoot wait shoot again if my wife was not with me. She is too anixous for serious landscape photo and gets real cranky if hungry.

Hahahaha

Definitely worth it, Joseph! The blues are so strong I thought it was a blue-toned monochrome at first glance, even a cyanotype. I don't think it's my gear, judging by my prints, but often skies on this forum look cyan to me, including here. I've exaggerated it in this edit, introducing artifacts as well, but I'd have been inclined to correct this, also reduce saturation, and emphasise such differences in hue as there are in this scene.

Reactions? Stop talking $%&*, Jablonski? Calibrate your monitor? Calibrate your brain?

Nice process Chris, I like this version as well, looks like a subtle hint of magenta(?) sneaking into the sky? Adds an extra dimension to the image.

I see a subtle change of toning in the sky also - along with the reduced saturation I think that adds more depth and added interest to an already wonderful image.

Good $%&" Janblonski!

Interestingly - Chris do you remember my photo where you said the colors were ... nauseating? :)
This is the same place. It is like it is a color alternate universe for some reason. His original is actually possible. But, that said, I do like the richness and contrast of your edits a little better.

Better find the Stemetil* button on your camera then, Ruth! ;-)

*That might be Compro on US-market cameras. Shouldn't have bought that grey market one!

Hey Ruth, do you want to post the image in question? It would be good to see multiple viewpoints from the same location.

To re-emphasise, Joe, I didn't do any local colour adustments, only trying to bring out existing subtle hue variations.

Can't do THAT in B&W, you monomaniacs out there (not you, Joe)!

Lol

lol maybe ill throw this up in before and after this is pretty close to actual location ...i know no crazy alterations from me trust me im not going purist by any means but adding to this one just didn't feel right the only things i did after my usual raw edit was desaturate add a grad filter top and bottom to reduce the flatness and some minor curve adjustments and gaussian blur.... honestly i didn't even like the shot but it has been getting attention here and on instagram i guess it might be growing on me

Great shot Joe, just beautiful. I like the color temperature here, I'm sure you could nail a warm tone one, but this has a beauty all its own.

thanks Joe hopefully your around next time im in your hood

It seems you are around my 'hood' more than I am lately, LOL, I was in Philly this past weekend doing some city shots.

dude give me a call when your here lol

Hey Joe. I really like the mood you have created with this. Along with the bare and vertical nature of the trees the image feels cold and almost sinister.
I suspect this would look great in B&W also but think the blue tone really sets the mood.

Great work!

Thanks Allen it was so me you did in the tonal range that in black-and-white it just didn’t look as good

Just for giggles and my own amusement here's an 'almost' B&W. Just using the (Windows 10) tools I have available during a lunch break.......

Not as good as the original/Chris's wonderful color versions as suspected but just in case others were wondering.....
