Once in a while we get a moon rainbow here. It was slightly misty and early enough that the beach boardwalk scene was in full party swing which gave off interesting light.
It looks like a painting, Ruth! I'm curious - did you use a very wide angle lens? Your EXIF data is not with this image. I think there's a primary halo 22 degrees around the sun & moon which I can just get in to a 20mm lens frame using a 35mm-sized-sensor camera.
I am guessing i was using a 50mm prime? Although the next day there are images with a 60mm canon. Maybe? I have a 17-50mm. The exif on the earliest version i have says 2:36am so who the heck knows what i was up to! ;)
I think you used 17mm. I've never shot a moon halo, only solar ones, although I think it's the same optical phenomenon. And it's always taken a 20mm lens, my widest, to fit in the diameter.
Set the time on your camera, unless it really was 2:36am!
That’s pretty cool Ruth I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before
Very Interesting.
Tonight is best night to see Jupiter ..
Get out your 80000 mm lens !
