I think you should drop the shadow slider a bit and mind the haloing affect between the landscape and the sky. I wouldn't mind seeing more of the road but I think the location you found is great.
Just have fun and experiment man. I think you should try coming again just after sunset and get some light trails. I think you might have something special. Maybe get a nice shot on a tripod of the mountains when the light is right and then wait until it gets a little darker and take a second picture for the road and combine them in post.
I agree, the bend in the road make an interesting line for your eyes to follow.

Yea thats a great idea
Doing this might also hide some of the imperfections on the road and bring out the paint on the road for a more interesting image.
