Very nice shot! In terms of compositing, was this a bracketed shot merged to HDR? Or some other method? It looks great, I would offer a little critique. It looks like there is a bit of a halo type effect along the trees. Not sure there, but the trees have a pretty bright bleed through. Great scene though!
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, bracketed... handheld. Merged to HDR in Photoshop. Tried my damnedest to get rid of the halo. Gonna have to keep practicing that.
If you like to do a lot of bracketing you might like to try a third party software. I was using Photomatix Aperture before I switched over Lightroom / Photoshop. I am not familiar with the Photoshop HDR tools, but with Photomatix there are a lot of adjustments you can make and that helps to see which ones are "going too far" one way or the other. Impressive handhold, the merge is super sharp.
