Plummer's Mariposa Lily, Calochortus plummerae

Wife and I spent most of Sunday searching the Santa Monica Mountains east of Malibu for the Plummer's Mariposa Lily. We found this small patch about eight feet up a rocky ledge. "The Lily is endemic to California, occurs in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura Counties. It has been significantly reduced by development and continues to decline." https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/75943-Calochortus-plummerae

GREAT COLORS

Thanks!

Thank you!

So lucky! Ive hoped to see one of these but havent yet. First one is stellar, second is great!

It was definitely random luck. We were specifically looking for these and if not for my wife I would have driven right past them.
First and second are my favorites too.
