Hi Arhtur, it was a 6sec exposure, shot from a parking lot in front of the Port Of Miami. Why 6 seconds you might ask, because of the wind. It was extremly windy this day and to keep some structure/texture in my clouds I had to shoot at this speed.
The post processing is mostly a dogde and burn plus 2 curves layers in photoshop.
The only lightning I’ve seen is countless amounts on our weather app, it never actually materialises:) the BBC have been bad at this weather thing for years now haha.
In the US we are lucky, there are plenty of app (super accurate!) giving you real time the last struck plus the evolution (intensity and direction) of the cell. It makes it almost easy to position your self at the good location. Plus during summer time we have tons of thunderstorms ....that helps too!
So one solution for you Stuart would be to plan a trip in South Florida during summer time :)
WOW CAPTURING THE LIGHTNING. SUPERB
Thank you Eugene :)
I like this alot in black and white! Great shot!
Thanks Dan!
Excellent capture! The contrast of the lightning on the black sky is superb.

Wow! Love that glow in the clouds. Great job, Ronan.

Beautiful picture. How long was your exposure, what did you do in post-processing? Where was it taken?
