Eastern Screech Owl - Before the sun comes up

This shot definitely took some dedication. Taken just before the sun came up I struggled to get a fast enough shutter speed to freeze the movement and yet a low enough ISO to keep the shot from being too noisy. Luckily owls tend to remain incredibly still allowing me to get down as low as 1/10s.

While post processing I decided to add more cool tones to the image to really try and capture that night feeling while taking this photo. What do you guys think? Was the edit successful?

NICE

Beautiful. The Owl, and the photograph.

I like it, the edit is nice. Hiw do you even go about finding an owl to photograph?

The best tip I can give for finding owls is to pay attention to other birds and wildlife. If you hear crows cawing it's likely they see something. Once you find an owl keep revisiting the same general area and you'll likely come across them again.

Absolutely stunning

Thanks so much! That's inspiring to hear, I really haven't edited in this kind of style before. Glad you like it.

Fantastic shot, I think you nailed it!

I think Troy put it well, Kyle - nailed it! Well done, and avoiding the obvious.
