Patrick's Point in Trinidad California. The 40% moon washed out the Milky Way a bit. Noise levels were high. Strange animals were all about making strange noises. I feel lucky to have gotten anything!
LOL! I felt the same way last night trying to shoot the night sky out in the country. The moon began to rise and wash out the milky way, then after hearing footsteps(?!) on both sides of me, I decided it was time to set the camera for a long, animated star trail exposure and get inside for the night - or rest of the morning ;)
That's the moon on the left, making it's way into my shot.
Nice shot, especially given all those distracting critters! ;-) That's a lovely part of the world. Have not been up there for ages.

This shot is outstanding, really love the color, just the whole vibe is wondrous.
Really like that shot. I've been through that area on the motorcycle years ago. Absolutely spectacular scenery everywhere.
Would love to try to do something like that, but Orange County doesn't have anywhere near that dark, I don't think.
