Is this landscape photography?

Hey there fstoppers community!

First of all I know that this is obviously not landscape photography since it’s not really happening on land ;) but let me explain. I’ve been looking for a place to talk about this stuff and the first impulse would be the underwater groups, wouldn’t it? Well, one of them seems abandoned and the other one is full of models in a pool. I honestly think that the stuff I do and enjoy has more in common with landscapes than that. This got me thinking about the topic a bit more. The approach is actually quite similar since it’s usually wide angle, small aperture, scenic and moody kind of stuff. Even the weather and light affect it in a very similar manner. It’s also most definitely out in nature, quite technical and works best in remote places ;) It feels like there are a lot of similarities. Since I don’t really want to start a seascape photography group and be its sole participant, what do you think? Does this in fact belong here? Is this maybe just a very wet type of landscape photography?

GORGEOUS

Thank you so much Eugene! 🙌🐠🙌🐠🙌🐠

MY PLEASURE ALEX

Not sure if it's landscape, but it's definitely nature. Which is what I signed up to this group for. Great colors, and I like that they seem real and not over the top!

Thank you Troy! Of course you are absolutely right about the nature part and I’m so glad you like the colors. Especially since that is really not so easy to get right underwater ;)

Nice images of an amazing world, Alexander! This is a Landscape & Nature Group after all, so they abundantly meet the second criterion. There are probably a few one-member Groups out there... ;-)

I don't think that there is a "Seascape" group.
I think that these colourful photographs would fit in with both "Intimate landscapes" and "Nature".

Welcome Alexander! I think this is the perfect place for these. They are all nice but something about number 3 really shines for me.

Looking forward to more from you!

Thanks Ruth for the warm welcome :) That shine wouldn't happen to be the sun by any chance? ;)

It’s more of a Seascape if you ask me ;)

I am with Stuart on this one, it is a nature seascape scene IMO. I like the shot with sun coming through the surface which also shows a sense of scale as well as the beauty of the subject (third from top).

They’re beautiful! We don’t see this everyday in real life which is what makes it even more special. Maybe you do but not most people. The first photo is my favorite as everything just falls into place and has the strongest composition of all. Nothing wrong with the other ones though. How long were you down there for and what camera did you capture this ?
