Looking for some advise from those who trek the woods, hills, and mountains in the ongoing effort to capture what’s out there. I’ve found a great pack to haul most of what I use. Looking for a sling or some other option to tote my 5D while carrying a full pack for day trips or longer. Summer, winter, and everything in between. Currently using a Black Magic sling with a PMG quick release. Heading to Kilimanjaro next year and need to find something that will work.
When going in the nature to hike for places to take photos I pack my camera gear in a normal rucksack meant for hiking. I most of the time need clothing and food with me so this is a good choice anyhow. I usually carry my camera, the filters, 2-3 lenses and mount the tripod on the rucksack.
for non hiking I have several photo bags, what ever you choose my recommendation is for it to be small. It makes you prioritize what to bring and keeps your back healthier in the long run
