Kevin Teerlynck's picture

Gleaming stars above the flowering heather

Because we shot the sunset at another location, it was not easy to find a composition in the dark, in a place we've had never been before. Motivated, we pushed on and found this beautiful solitary tree wich was perfectly aligned with the shiny milky way. This tree definitely saved the night!

Shot on a nikon D750 with a Samyang 14mm manual focus lens. To reduce a maximum of noise and increase as much detail as possible i've stacked 12 shots to achieve this result. Hope you all like it :)

Stunning, really excellent shot.

huge thanks Mike! glad you like it :)

Awesome shot.

thanks a lot!

It's a wonderful picture. How did the 12 shots differ that you stacked? Focus, exposure? Is it an HDR-image? Could you explain in some words the technical details of this photo?
Thank you, Kandid

thank you. When shooting high iso you can take multiple exposures and combine those in post to reduce the noise. This will result in a cleaner and more crisp image. There are different techniques and programs available to do this, depending on what software or system you use.

Beautiful. How did you get the sky color? That dark purple is #1. ISO, white balance, post-process?
