I was driving through Big Bend National Park and saw the rows of mountains in the morning haze and quickly found an overlook to try to take a photo. This is a stitch of about 8 images each shot at 85mm.
My main idea is to capture the depth with multiple craggy peaks separated in the distance by the haze.
I deliberately brought down the foreground exposure as it contained a lot of scattered desert plants and i wanted viewer focus to be on the distant mountains. Also, color has been desaturated quite a bit.
Any comments about the editing choices?
I like the photo a lot. Agree the original is a better image. I find the forgrond brush odd how it shows on the mountain.... I would clone it out to see if it tidies up the image
I like your direction for the final image. For me, it would probably look great fully desaturated and printed in large format. Either way it isn’t the color that detracts me from the scene, it’s the branches that obscure the peak. Nothing you could have done here and your artistic license as to whether they should be cloned out. Either way you were really successful in capturing the grandeur and breathtaking nature of the scene.
