Doesn't the 80D have a self-timer or mirror lockup feature? My old Konica Minolta had a 2-second timer that would automatically lock the mirror up at the beginning of the countdown so any vibrations were stopped by the time the shutter opened. I believe it was one of the first to have this feature, but I figured a lot of other companies had at least copied it by now. When shooting long exposures with my current Sony, I always use the 2-second delay instead of a wired remote.
