Anthony Robin's picture

A New Planet.

Another night running on the rocks, looking for interesting shapes and lines. I had to keep an eye on the time and the tide, I had to be fast but I finally found those rock formations and I definitely fell in love with the colors in the sky!

Composition is perfect; love it. But there is a distinct halo around the tall rocks against the brighter sky. I assume that’s from masking the rocks to bring up the shadows in post. If your software has the ability to create a luminance mask, use that. And refine the mask edge until there is no discernible halo.

In the old days, it was assumed that anything dodged or burned in the darkroom would have some artifacts that gave away the work, but now we have all become accustomed to perfection. Unfortunately.

Phillip's said it all for me, Anthony! Great job. Post more!
