Autumn mirror

Spring or source (I'm not sure what is the right way to call it) of the river Krušnica near the town of Bosanska Krupa in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This little corner of nature as I know isn't that well known within the people, indeed I think that some even conceal it successfully. I'm not sure what to think. Should such unbelievable beautiful parts of nature be shown to people for them to see, or to keep them secret, and thus retain that sense of mystery ? What do you think ?

First - totally awesome shot!

As for your question. That is a tough one. I feel like Edward Abby - I want to see and experience it and then I want to close it off so it can be safe. Selfish - Not a flattering viewpoint. But, there it is.

Ruth Carll Yes, good point indeed ! I'm thinking that in the near future this and similar places could get 'commercialized' and crowded with people - which is bad.

I hear stories of shared locations by photographers that subsequently get overworked or trashed by less respectful people. It does feel selfish to keep the location secret but it may also protect it.

Oh and I really like the shot!

Absolutely true ! Thank you !

Ha... the old dilemma. I think it's always good to keep those secret spots secret. One the world becomes aware they inevitably get spoilt and the emotional connection you have wit the place disappears.
I think that your goal as a photographer is to bring that beauty to the people by way of prints, and retain the mystery.

BTW - my lips are sealed. Now, where exactly did you say the location is.... :-)

True, I think I made my mind about this topic. Said that, I'm not giving you the exact location, but based on what I wrote in the description you can go and explore and afterward maybe be lucky and find this corner. Hmm I find this also a good way of dealing with locations like this, giving just little hints that may or may not lead you. Who knows.

Maybe these places are special because of what artists do with them.

There was a location in the Oregon Cascades that was beautiful and not under a lot of tourist pressure. Glad I shared photos of it. Next year Forest fire destroyed it.

That is a beautiful photo

Great location... mums the word.. :)

Oh, wow! Roadtrip! :D
