I took a ride to Cataloochee Valley in the mountains of western North Carolina this week to capture the last of the peak fall color season before all of the leaves fall from the trees. This is a great place to go for beautiful mountain views, fall colors, and lots of elk (Cataloochee Valley is an elk preserve dedicated to repopulating the elk that have slowly disappeared from these mountains).
Unfortunately, I arrived too late in the day to catch the morning light, but the tree canopy shaded this area from a lot of the harsh afternoon sunlight. As always, any and all cc is greatly appreciated!
The sun light helps to bring out the golden yellows. I like how the individual leaves in the foreground lead to the same color in the trees.
It was amazing to drive through... at certain points of this trail, you couldn't actually see the trail for all of the leaves. It reminded me of the yellow brick road in "The Wizard of Oz." Thanks for the comment!
Super photo Mark and I think the lighting is great
Thanks, Ralph!
