Winter field

Here is my first attempt at keeping the composition to a minimum.

Nice job in trying something new! I love minimalist scenes. Perhaps play with cropping a bit to just see how the comp changes with less bright blue sky.

Thanks for your feedback

I like the composition, but feel it's too bright and sunny to convey the feeling of "winter." Maybe drop the saturation a bit or convert to B&W?

Thank you for your feedback I will give that a try.

I have tried to remove some detail and so maybe a little more minimalist. Time to move on :)

As the original poster, you can edit the page, and add images directly under the main, rather than here in the comments, so we can scroll directly between them.

I like Phillip's edit. Prefer the subtle blue over b/w.

I like your composition, including the "big sky" although a crop would also work. I like Phillip's idea, and your final version. The sky looks a little garish in the first version, to my eye.

Thanks for your feedback

I'd try this photo in b/w and see how it might look. I'd love to hit that tree with my 750mm lens; but I appreciate what you were doing with this open shot as well.

I live in the Northeast (usa) and we have nothing like this over here, it's almost alien seeing so much open, flat, space; we have farms and the like, but nothing like this.

Thanks for your feedback. This photo was taken near Orillia Ontario Canada. We are right on transition to the very forested region to our north.

Simple b&w looks best to my eyes. Blue is bit strong in original photo. Personal preference though. Very appealing composition!

Thanks for your feedback.

Agree with Sandeep - the color could be distracting - very subjective personal taste. At the end of the day, the viewer will see what you present and never see the back-side of the editing and creating process.
