Moss on Trees Collection

Went hiking in a drizzle recently, and found a nice bunch of trees with moss coming to life.

One of my two favorite colors. Greens. Wow, Ray! Nothing to critique from me. The balance is awesome, rule of thirds perspective seems pleasing to my eye. I love the way the light glints off the edges of the branches. And, photo essay -wise... love how the wider shots lead down to the macro level, close up of the moss. (oh the thoughts I have while waiting for the plumber to show up)

As am Aussie pal puts it... you ought to be chuffed about these shots. :)

Thanks. I think this shine is only available when the moss is still wet. And yes, I am chuffed.

Right. Derrr... I forget my time roaming in the wet Oregon woods. The beauty of the rain. :)

Very nicely done. The moisture really brings out the color of the moss with additional saturation.

Very nice. The top one is my favorite -- it has a similar movement conveyed throughout the scene. If it was just the tree in the foreground, it would only be okay. But the fact that the trees in the background also curve to the right at the top is what makes it for me. There is a circular motion. Would be very interesting to see what this would look like in more foggy conditions to soften the mood a bit.

That's a good point. I didn't notice it and just thought background "suits".

Nice sereis, Ray! Well done. I particularly like the third for the boldness of the composition, and the contrasts - between the dark and the backlit moss, and of the tree against the background mist. Very atmospheric!
