When I was wandering around I came across a shade below a rock. I then found this mushroom which was really standing out specially when that beam of light fell on it. Below is the original photo and the edited one.
I would really appreciate your opinions on the photo and the edit. And if it could be edited better.
Thanks! and stay at home
for me the light attracts my eye and then I have to look around in the dark for the mushrooms. I think that the edit you did to the light is a bit much, the mushrooms are good and the rest of the picture is to dark. just my 2 cents worth
If it were possible, Maen, it would improve the image to shoot from an even lower position, so the mushroom caps were silhouetted against that brightly-lit background patch above them. It is distracting, and so the processing is relegated to being something of a rescue job. I might also have removed that diagonal branch in the background, which leads the eye - nowhere, unfortunately.
It's a nice idea, this image, but if you couldn't in fact get the camera down lower, a satisfactory may simply have been undoable in practice. Happens a lot!
Thanks for the feedback you got a point about the diagonal branch. I think when i took the shot i was standing in slightly higher ground than of the mushroom's, I litterally did put the camera on the ground. I also thought of rotating my angle 180° but then i would block the light. In the edit though I tried a lot to make contrast between the mushroom and background it was a rescue as you mentioned.
this looks a lot darker posted than it did on my screen.
Yes i felt the same, the exported one is also darker than the edited file. I exported in sRGB mode
