I love that "crack" in the grey world, Matt! I like the idea of the image. Kudos for not cranking up the saturation to 110% on the "crack".
In terms of CC, I think you were using the equivalent of a 28mm lens on "full frame" i.e. quite wide-angle. I imagine myself in your place at this scene, taking a step or two forward with the same framing, so the right-hand fence post was almost in the bottom right corner of the frame, and trying to get the rest of the fence angling up more. I might also step left a bit, so there's more room at the left of the fence. I've tried to illustrate this in the attached edit. Not my finest work, but I hope you get the idea!
As it is, that fence tends to visually cut across the frame to my eye, rather than lead the eye as much as it could into the image, and up towards the glowing "crack".
