I've been going through some of my older images since the quarantine. So many terrible compositions, no light, and...well, I really wonder if I was drunk on most of my backpacking trips in the past! (More like high on endorphins from hiking, actually.)
But, there are a few good ones. And this one, I actually didn't re-edit. Perhaps I would do a few things differently now, but, it's always been one of my favorites, so I decided to share it as is.
Is anyone else doing the same due to the quarantine? They are closing trailheads and mountain roads here in the Northwest, so even remote locations where you would not see a human are becoming inaccessible. Is it like that in other parts of the world?
Do it in black & white and this could make for a black metal album cover =)
I mean, I do enjoy black metal on occasion, so I appreciate that! I think there's a strong overlap between black metal listeners, landscape photographers, and people who love Lord of the Rings :)
If you have enough pixels, I'd love to see a crop of the small tree among the tall trees. Just a thought
I do have a square crop of this actually, that I quite like, so we're thinking the same thoughts. Although, I was using a Canon 6D back then, so not quite enough pixels to really crop too much. Side note, looking back through old images, I'm really noticing the difference between images shot on the 6D compared to the A7r3. Both megapixels and dynamic range. It's like night and day.
I just watched the Shining again, I get that vibe from this image. Love it
